FAQ, banners and information windows
When to use FAQ, notification banner or information window and how to set their content, order and visibility.
On this page
FAQ, notification banner and information window solve three different situations. Choosing the right format will help the visitor get the answer without the website disturbing him unnecessarily.
Which format to use
| You need... | Use | Administration |
|---|---|---|
| a permanent answer to a recurring question | FAQ | Questions and answers |
| temporarily notify most visitors | Announcement | Announcements |
| explain a concept after clicking on a specific place | Infomodal | Information windows |
FAQ: an answer visitors can find themselves
In FAQ you create questions, answers and their order. You manage categories in FAQ Categories and common behavior in FAQ Settings.
- Write the question in the words the customer uses.
- Answer first with one direct sentence, then add a procedure.
- Select category, public address and language versions.
- Decide if the question should be visible and included in search engine data.
- Set the last check date and refresh it regularly.
A hidden question should not be displayed to the visitor or submitted to search engines as a public answer.
Notice: important but temporary message
Notification has a short title, text, order and activity toggle. The visitor can close it and Nodera remembers their choice according to the stable notification key. If you change this key, the notification may reappear even to people who have already closed it. Therefore, do not change the key just to correct the text.
Infomodal: explanation on request
The information window is inserted in a supported location using a short code. In Infomodal you edit the title, short description, formatted content and activity. The code is the identity of the window; if you change it, a site using the old code may no longer find it.
Current example
As of 1 September 2026, the selected Nodera website had 4 active information windows. FAQs and Announcements are only displayed on sites that have the respective module enabled and populated with content; their absence in the menu may therefore be the correct setting of the project.
Quality control
- Do not use the banner for a long tutorial; link from it to an article or FAQ.
- Do not create two FAQs with the same question in different categories.
- Check links and formatting in all languages.
- Verify that the window can be closed with the keyboard and the text is readable on mobile.
- Turn off the banner after the announced event is over.
