Images, media and secure uploads
How to prepare and upload an image, set its optimization, describe it correctly and use it safely on the web.
On this page
Good images make content easier to understand, but bad files can slow down a website or make it less readable. Nodera therefore checks the file type for supported uploads and can reduce the image size or convert it to a more efficient format.
Before uploading
- Choose an image that you have the right to use.
- Crop it to an aspect ratio suitable for the target module.
- Remove unnecessary margins and check the legibility of the text in the image.
- Use a meaningful file name without sensitive data.
- Prepare a short alternative text describing the meaning of the image.
Supported types and SVG
Common content modules mainly support JPG, PNG and WEBP. Some icon fields also accept SVG, which Nodera checks before saving. Do not embed SVG as a workaround for scripts or third-party interactive content. If the module rejects a certain type, convert the image to the recommended format.
Optimization settings
In Image settings, an authorized administrator can turn optimization on or off, set the maximum dimensions and choose the output format or quality. Disabled is a valid saved option, not a form error.
| Setting | Impact |
|---|---|
| Max width and height | will limit unnecessarily large photos |
| Quality | balances sharpness and file size |
| Output format | determines whether the image can be converted to a more economical type |
| Optimization on | new supported uploads will use the configured optimization |
Changing the setting applies to further uploads; already saved images do not need to be recalculated.
Alternative text
Alternative text should explain what the visitor would not know without the image. For decorative graphics, it can be left blank if the module supports it. Do not write "image" or file name; for example, "Overview of active modules on the dashboard".
After uploading
- Check the preview and image orientation.
- Save the record and open it again.
- Verify the result on the public page.
- Check desktop and mobile views and any dark or light background in use.
- If you replace an image, also check every location that uses the same record.
When an upload fails
Check the file type, size and dimensions. Try a safe copy in JPG, PNG or WEBP. If the problem persists, send support the module name, time and general file type; do not send confidential originals without agreement.
